The Marines of Marine Wing Support Squadron 371 have begun construction of a 1.9 million square-foot aircraft parking expansion that will provide military aircraft a place to park after landing at the Camp Bastion airfield, a service currently not available. Marines of all military occupational specialties, mentored by expeditionary airfield technicians, have contributed to the construction of the parking expanse. Green, an air, rescue, firefighting specialist; Dube, an expeditionary airfield technician; and Cannella, a supply chief; are with MWSS-371. MWSS-371 is part of the aviation combat element of 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, whose mission is to conduct counterinsurgency operations with a focus on training and mentoring the Afghan national police.
