Deutsch: Am 15. Mai 1778 heiratete die verwitwete Gräfin Maria Anna von Plettenberg (1752–1829) den Freiherrn Clemens August von Ketteler (1751–1815).

Die Braut trägt ein rosafarbenes Kleid, darüber einen sehr dünnen Überwurf aus weißem Spitzenstoff und einen edelsteinbesetzten Ohrschmuck; ein zweites Exemplar in westfälischem Adelsbesitz zeigt sie mit einer weißen Rose. Ein schmales schwarzes Halsband verweist auf ihren Witwenstand: Geboren als Tochter des Erbkämmerers Wilhelm Ferdinand Freiherrn von Galen (1690–1769) aus dessen zweiter Ehe mit Sophie von Merveldt (1730–1810), hatte sie 1768 den Grafen Clemens August von Plettenberg-Nordkirchen (1742–1771) geheiratet, einen Vetter zweiten Grades, waren ihre Großmütter von Westerholt zu Lembeck doch Schwestern gewesen. Ihr Mann fiel noch vor der Geburt seines Sohnes einer erblichen Lungenkrankheit zum Opfer. So heiratete sie in zweiter Ehe den Baron Ketteler, Herrn zu Harkotten, mit dem sie vier Kinder hatte, von denen aber drei schon sehr jung verstarben.
