Description
English: Hurricane Maria at 02:38 UTC on September 20, 2017 as seen by the MODIS instrument onboard NASA's Terra satellite. At the time, Maria was a Category 5 hurricane with winds of 175 mph (280 km/h) and a minimum pressure of 910 mbar (hPa; 26.87 inHg), making it one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes ever recorded. The outer eyewall of Maria was moving over St. Croix as the hurricane moved towards the west-northwest.
