This map was printed on pages 264 and 265 of "H.M.S. York 1936-1939", full title "In The Western Hemisphere with "H.M.S. York" 1936-1939" (an account of HMS York while on the America and West Indies Station), produced by HMS York (Royal Navy) in 1939, on the conclusion of the commission, and printed by Flood and Son, Lted, The Borrough Press, Lowestoft. The map is signed GHR, 1939. The foreword is by Admiral (then Vice-Admiral, and Commander in Chief on the America and West Indies Station) Sir Sidney Julius Meyrick, KCB, the forword is by Captain H. E. Morse, DSO, and the introduction is signed, like the map, GHR. Otherwise, the author, a Royal Naval officer of HMS York, of the text is anonymous, as are the illustrators. The only officer listed on the books of HMS York in the Navy List (March, 1939; page 305) is Commissioned Gunner G. H. Read.
