Description

This picture is copy of the original taken during the last years of the 1890s by an unknown photographer. The picture was taken most certainly in the Naval Station of La Graña in El Ferrol, North-western Spain. The portrait shows a middle age officer of the Spanish Royal Navy in full uniform. The name of the officer: D. Manuel Grandal Valerio.

It must be noted that when the picture was taken, Spain was not at war with the United States of America, so I am going to suggest 1896 or 1897 as possible dates for the picture.
