Pie chart of the world religious groups by percentage according to The Global Religious Landscape statistics compiled by Pew Research Center, corrected according to survey findings about the Chinese traditional religion. The Pew Research Center unjustifiably underestimated the number of followers of Chinese traditional folk religions, which according to various surveys based on empirical data collected in China is practiced by nearly 1 billion people.

In this graph, I have maintained the Pew's statistics for Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, and I have revised the statistics for unaffiliated and folk religious populations according to the findings about Chinese religion.

Out of a world population of 6.9 billion people, as of 2010:

• Christians are 2.2 billion (Pew);
• Muslims are 1.6 billion (Pew);
• Hindus are 1.0 billion (Pew);
• Chinese traditionalists are 900 million (Chinese Spiritual Life Survey 2007, Chinese Family Panel Studies 2012);
• Buddhists are 488 million (Pew);
• The remaining part of the world population is either composed of followers of other religions, ethnic religions, or is unaffiliated to any religion.
