Description
English: Lot 10625-13: Navy Day, 27 October 1945. Distant Navy planes are framed by huge radar equipment on the superstructure of USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVB-42) during commissioning of the ship at the New York (Brooklyn) Navy Yard, New York City, New York during the day’s ceremonies. Donated by Mr. Thomas J. Watson from a recording America’s tribute to its victorious fleet in first peacetime Navy Day since the start of World War Two. (7/17/2015).
