English: Mathematical model of artificial magnetosphere for a spacecraft with a field source operating in a plasma environment (pe) with effective wind velocity upe illustrating the magnetospheric bubble enclosed by a magnetopause that creates a bow shock and an effective sail area S with radius equal to the characteristic length L. Under certain conditions, the standoff between wind pressure pw and magnetic pressure pB transfers the plasma wind force Fw to a propulsive force on the spacecraft Fsc. |
