This Sunday, Dr. Figurine and I finished creating our first Magic Mushroom Lights, with help from Dr. Canard. These mushroom lights turned out pretty well! They look really magical and organic, even up close. We made them by adding watercolor to some clear silicon paste, shaping it with saran wrap, then attaching them to a log, and connecting the LEDs to batteries. To make these mushrooms, we followed the instructions in this excellent video by DIY Perks: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5LjGFkpApw" rel="nofollow">www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5LjGFkpApw</a> You can easily make your own, if you like. It took us a half-day over a couple sessions to make them, but it was well worth it. We’re thinking of including them in some of our other art projects, such as Violet’s Journey, the Time Machine and/or Ubu’s Dreams, our new shadow puppet show. Making art with friends is such a pleasant experience. I think creative collaborations like these are good for society, and should be encouraged more.
