Italiano: Questa edizione del Commento al sogno di Scipione di Ambrogio Teodosio Macrobio fu realizzata su pergamena e miniata a Venezia nel 1473, pochi mesi dopo la sua pubblicazione. Lo scudo al centro del margine inferiore reca le armi del filosofo Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, la cui Orazione sulla Dignità dell'Uomo èfu definita il "Manifesto del Rinascimento". È molto probabile che questo libro sia stato presentato a Pico della Mirandola in occasione della sua nomina a Protonotario Apostolico nel 1473, all'età di dieci anni. Il libro fu ritrovato nella collezione di Tommaso, ottavo conte di Pembroke, e fu in seguito di proprietà del collezionista Henry Yates Thompson, la cui vedova lo presentò al Trinity College nel 1928. |
