English: An MH-53 Pave Low helicopter, like the one pictured flying over Florida, crashed near Duke Field at approximately 11:45 p.m. Sept. 7, 2007. The helicopter can fly long ranges at low levels in adverse weather. This Pave Low, Tail Number 5-790, is from the 20th Special Operations Squadron (SOS) at Hurlburt Field, Fla, 1st Special Operations Wing (SOW) (AFSOC). They were also assigned to the 352nd Special Operations Group(SOG)/21st SOS at RAF Mildenhall, UK; 353rd SOG/31st SOS at Osan AB, Republic of Korea; and 58th SOW/551st SOS at Kirtland AFB. NM. |
