Summary[edit]
DescriptionMAX and bus side-by-side on Portland Mall, 5th & Yamhill.jpg | An inbound MAX train being passed by a bus on the Portland Transit Mall of TriMet, in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. The transit mall opened for buses in late 1977. It was closed in 2007 for renovation and rebuilding, including the addition of light rail (MAX) tracks, and reopened in 2009. The MAX train seen here is in service on the Green Line and is headed for Portland State University, at the south end of Downtown Portland (as the city center is almost universally called, in contrast to TriMet's "City Center" signs), and is stopped at the "Pioneer Place/SW 5th Avenue" station. The bus is bound for Oregon Health & Science University on route 8-Jackson Park. |
