Title
English: Luna Park, ca. 1909
Description
English: West Seattle's Luna Park was named for Luna, the Roman goddess of the moon. The amusement park was a popular place for Seattleites to swim, dance, and have fun. They could ride on a giant water slide, a rollercoaster, or a carousel, or have a drink at what was advertised as "the longest bar on the bay." They could even see an exhibit of babies in an electric incubator.

This photo was taken at Luna Park sometime between 1906 and 1913. The roller coaster loops across the foreground. The bath house is just to the right of the smokestack, behind the steam. The carousel is inside the round building with the turret, near the bath house.
