Summary[edit]

Description
English: This diagram explains how the comets C/2007 N3 (Lulin) shows an "antitail." Ion tail and dust tail can theorically be separated. The ion tail (cyan in the image) is oriented according to solar wind (and points more or less directly away from the Sun). The dust tail (red), formed by dust particles ejected by the comet, more or less follows the comet's orbit.[1] Tail dimensions aren't in scale.
