| Description | Yet another picture of the sea at low tide just short of the Itsukushia shrine on Miyajimacho Island just off Hiroshima in Japan. If this picture builds up the tempo till we get to the actual temple then so be it. The entire area in the foreground gets submerged at high tide which also covers the base portion of a torii gate (see previous pictures earlier in this album for pictures of the torii gate) and parts of the main Itsukushima temple itself, hence earning Itsukushima temple the title of floating temple. Detailed notes about the Itsukushima temple appeared earlier in this album and will also appear in subsequent captions later on in this album. (Hiroshima,Japan, Apr/ May 2019) |
