Description

Loughrea Priory, County Galway, Ireland

Two memorial plaques at the west wall of the south transept of the old priory. The upper plaque reads:

Erected to the Memory of
 WILLIAM CARROLL
By a few of His Friends
as a
TESTIMONY
of their esteem and regard of
his many amiable traits of character
He departed this life January 11, 1881
aged 24 Years

The lower plaque is dedicated to Michael Nevin, who died 17 October 1888, and his family.
