Summary

[edit]
Description Lot-8326-1: WWI: American Expeditionary Forces: Food. Q.M. supplies going through “No Man’s Land”. The 60-centimeter train has stopped to unload supplies at a ration dump of the 130th Infantry, 33rd Division at the “Grande Tranches de Colonne.” For four years the trenches of the opposing forces had occupied the land and much of the time these trenches were only one hundred yards apart. This picture will give some idea perhaps of the difficult conditions under which it was commonly necessary to handle rations and forage as at such a dump as this it was impossible to have covered storage, near Mouilly, France, October 28, 1918.
