| Description |
English: Lorry Stop Shelter at the bottom of Lon Garret In the latter decades of the quarry's life (1940s-1960's) management agreed to provide a lorry service to carry men up from the bottom of Lon Garret to the Garret district of the quarry as buses could not negotiate this part of the route. Because of the often atrocious winter weather at this altitude, the company also reluctantly agreed to a request to provide a shelter for the waiting men. Since the quarry's closure these have remained boarded up. The building in the background is Capel Sardis 297771 |
