| Description |
English: Built circa 1931, this Stripped Classical Revival-style Amherst Sandstone building was constructed to house the Amherst branch of the Lorain County Savings and Trust Bank. The building features simple pilasters with banded horizontal trim at the top, vertical window openings, now infilled with wooden framing and cladding, cartouches on either corner of the front facade, and a centrally placed front door with a cornice and decorative stone surround, partially obscured behind a wooden canopy. The building today houses a bar and restaurant, and stands among other historic commercial buildings on Park Avenue in Downtown Amherst. |
