Summary[edit]

Description
English: Looking east on the completed Lake Washington Floating Bridge, the only concrete pontoon bridge in the world, Mercer Island, Washington, October 2, 1940. As of 2016, two different similarly constructed pontoon bridges on this location carry Interstate 90 across the lake. The parking areas shown here are long gone, as are the entrances to the roadway from Lake Washington Boulevard (closed in the 1980s).
