Description

The format of the new “Nutrition Facts” label mandated in the 1990 Nutrition Labeling and Education Act reflected the results of a 1993 survey by the Food Marketing Institute showing that consumers consulted labels first for the fat content of their foods, closely followed by ingredients and calories.
