| Description |
English: London Plane, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London WC1 One of the many impressive London Plane trees in this park, which is the largest public square in London and was said to be the inspiration for Central Park in New York.
It is many years since I visited Lincoln's Inn Fields, the last time being in the mid 1980s when the square had become a popular haunt for the homeless of Central London. The day I visited there were only dog walkers and lawyers taking smoking breaks. |
