| Description |
Español: Portada de estilo gótico-isabelino del Convento e Iglesia Conventual de Santa Clara en Loja, Granada. Fue este único convento de monjas de la ciudad fundado en 1505 por Fray Fernando de Talavera, primer arzobispo de Granada y confesor de la Reina Isabel. Tras distintas visicitudes se dió posesión a las hermanas clarisas en 1527 que permanecieron hasta 1991. Su iglesia destaca por su elegante y proporcionada planta con pinturas al fresco de los hermanos Ciea, con asuntos sobre la vida de Cristo en recuadros divididos por arquitetura fingida. Su portada es de estilo gótico-isabelino y tiene heráldica de Talavera. El retablo barroco (1760) es de la autoría de Gregorio Salinas. A los pies del templo están los coros protegidos por celosías de hierro. La sillería de este coro fue donada por la reina Isabel II. Fue declarado BIC el 27 de junio de 1997. |
