Description: Scrapbook page contains one photograph of a loggetta in Venice, Italy. Annotated information explains the architectural history and scope of the site and describes several of the design elements.

Transcription: This Loggetta was erected by Sansovino in 1540. It was a place of rendezvous for the Nobili. The outside statues and reliefs of marble and the statues within of Madonna, Jesus and John in gilded terra cotta are the work of Sansovino. Its bronze doors were cast in 1750. It stands at the base of the Campanile, a tower which is 322 feet high erected in 888 in the time of Doge Pietro Tribuno, restored in 1329. The angel on its summit [16 feet high] was placed there in 1517. Its ascent is by a winding inclined plane. The watchman on its top can see not only the city, the sea, and encircling lagoons, the islands and the plains but the far away Alps.
