   Hotel, now offices.
   A.Waterhouse for London North Western Railway.
   French Renaissance style. Stone. Slate roof. 5 storeys
   with basement and attic, 21 bays. End bays and bays
   flanking 3-bay centre project and are carried up into
   towers. Ground floor has round headed windows with
   bracketed sills and moulded arches. Entrance is round-
   arched on Doric columns, with flanking window; carved
   spandrels. 1st floor windows have balconies, the 3 central
   windows behind Doric colonnade supporting 2 statues. 1st to
   3rd floor windows in round arched recesses. End bays have
   2-storey oriels with decorated bases and pierced parapets.
   4th floor has wide sill band, balconies to windows, which
   have panels between. Bracketed cornice and stone dormers.
   End bays have windows of 3 round-headed lights with cornice
   and dormer above; centre bay the same. Towers flanking the
   centre of 2 storeys and finials with flanking stacks. End
   bay towers have steep pavilion roofs with cresting and
   flanking stacks; similar towers to rear. 12 cross-axial
   stacks. Area railings and stone piers. Return to Lord
   Nelson Street has 8-light continuous windows between blank
   end bays. Pointed arched entrance and window under round
   relieving arch. Right-hand return similar with 1-storey
   projecting block which has raised end bays with pavilion
   roofs.
   Interior: Entrance hall with granite columns and fireplace.
   Rectangular glazed lean-to-extension has iron balusters.
   Buffet has coffered ceiling supported by 2 rows of
   Corinthian columns. End fireplace with pier glass over.
