Summary[edit]

Description
English: Linseed and Field Poppies, Barbury Castle Estate. Ripening linseed and field or common poppies. Commercial crops of linseed have been grown in many parts of the world for use in paints, varnish and putty, as a fattening food for cattle and in veterinary medicine. Common Poppies, sometimes called Field Poppies, are a very striking scarlet colour. They are often seen in great numbers in cornfields or on road verges. The common poppy is used in herbal medicine for coughs and throat infections.
