Description
Français : Linga. Trà Kiệu, province de Quảng Nam. 10e siècle. Grès. H. 85; L. 27,5 cm; P. 27,5 cm. Inv. 2.2 Musée de la sculpture cham, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam. Référence: Pierre Baptiste (dir.), Thierry Zéphir (dir.) et al. (Exposition: musée Guimet 2005-2006), La sculpture du Champa : Trésors d'art du Vietnam Ve-XVe siècles, Paris, Réunion des musées nationaux : Musée Guimet, 2005, XXVII-373 p., 28 cm (ISBN 2-7118-4898-1), p. 270-271. Comme l'indique Pierre Baptiste dans le catalogue: « Jamais le linga n'apparaissait sous cette forme dans les sanctuaires, seule la partie supérieure émergeait de la cuve à abblution. L'image ne peut se concevoir qu'avec son piédestal intimement complémentaire. » « Le pilier, en tant que colonne de feu, contient en lui même les trois divinités. Brahma, le créateur, occupe la partie inférieure du linga, cachée sous la terre. Symbolise le principe neutre. [...] Vishnu, le préservateur, occupe la partie centrale, masquée par le piédestal. Symbolise le principe féminin. [...] Rudra, le destructeur, apparait au sommet et symbolise le principe masculin. C'est la seule partie visible du linga dans son piédestal. »
