Description
Español: Lignum Crucis con la cruz pectoral del papa Clemente XIV, en la Sacristía mayor de la catedral de Sevilla, (España). Este relicario es uno de los tres con fragmentos del Lignum Crucis que se conservan en la catedral de Sevilla. Perteneció al papa Clemente XIV, y a su muerte fue heredado por su sobrino, monseñor Ganganelli, que lo regaló al arzobispo de Sevilla, Francisco Javier Delgado Venegas, con motivo de su nombramiento como cardenal. Y tras la defunción del cardenal Delgado Venegas fue heredado por su hermano, que era el tesorero de la catedral de Sevilla, quien a su vez se lo cedió al cabildo catedralicio sevillano. Y los miembros de este encargaron en 1794 el relicario que aquí vemos al orfebre Antonio Méndez, y luego regalaron la pieza a Manuel Godoy, aunque el relicario retornó a la catedral andaluza tras la caída en desgracia del valido del rey Carlos IV de España. Y por debajo del Lignum Crucis pueden verse la cruz pectoral y dos anillos con amatistas que pertenecieron al cardenal Victoriano Guisasola y Menéndez (1852-1920), que fue arzobispo de Toledo y de Valencia.
