Summary[edit]

Description

The Principality of Liechtenstein has almost completely abolished the mask mandate since a week. Only in public transport it is still required. A blessing for the Swiss population in the Buchs-Sargans area, who can now shop carefree again. No borders, no controls, no masks. A small country that dares to be free. The principality doesn't even have a motorway, a commercial airport or its own railway. The commercial media in Switzerland that are supported by the state are still communicating the number of cases of corona infected people. Maybe I am one of them, as a dark figure. I dont know. As a healthy person, you are a potentially suspect. Incredible. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a science fiction movie where humanity is threatened with extinction. No problem, I am legend. Balzers, July 12, 2021.

Update August 4, 2021: For a month now, masks are no longer compulsory in stores in Liechtenstein. And to this day nothing is known that there were any problems because of it. Why is nobody in Switzerland talking about it? Thanks to its open borders, Liechtenstein is like part of Switzerland in everyday life.

Update August 15, 2021: Today Liechtenstein celebrates its national holiday. We haven't heard anything about Corona in Liechtenstein for one and a half month. The only measure that still applies is the mask in public transport. In Switzerland, the Corona situation in Liechtenstein is a taboo subject; strong panic is being stirred up before a fourth wave. The vaccine must be sold.

Update August 26, 2021: Switzerland would like to introduce the certificate requirement. The Liechtensteiners are fine, you don't even need a mask when shopping. Happy who lives in the upper Rhine Valley. But the rest of Switzerland shouldn't know that. Otherwise they would have to close the borders. Not because of Corona. So that the Swiss don't run away.

Update September 8, 2021:

In Switzerland, from Monday, September 13, 2021, a certificate is required inside restaurants, leisure facilities and so forth. In Liechtenstein, only mask in public transport. A lot is compared to Austria and other surrounding countries, but the freely accessible Liechtenstein does not seem to exist. But for the inhabitants of the St. Gall and Grisons Rhine Valley, it is.
