Summary[edit]

Description
English: Lele mama dance is a swahili dance that is played by women and girls during wedding and cultural festival. The players wear make up and piece of Kanga at the shoulder.

The dancers uses sticks, drum and a bench , the players stand on the bench while dancing.

The dance was played by Ms. Sharifa Abubakar Nabahany and stone town academy school.
Kiswahili: Ngoma ya Lele mama huchezwa na wanawake na wasichana. Ngoma ya lele mama hutumika kutumbuiza harusini na sherehe za kitamaduni katika jamii ya waswahili. Wachezaji hupambwa kwa vipodozi, asmini na huvaa kanga au leso begani.

Wachezaji hupanda juu ya bao wanapocheza.

Mapambo ya lele mama ni kama mapambo ya ngoma ya shangani.

Hutumia mapambo na vifaa vifuatavyo: 1. Bao kupanda kusimama wakati wa kucheza 2. vipande viwili vidogo vya fimbo kuchezea 3. zijalbosi za uso zilizotungwa kwa makaratasi ya makoja 4. Kidani cha mashavu 5. kipande cha kanga(Lesso) 6.kumbura au shada moja 7. Vipodozi 8. Ngoma 9.Utasa 10. Nyimbo za kitamaduni za waswahili _

Ngoma lele mama imechezwa na Sharifa Abubakar Nabahany pamoja na wanafunzi wa shule ya stone town academy.
