Stahlstich um 1850 nach L.[udwig] Rohbock (THIEME-BECKER Bd. 28, S. 542); Plattenrand 16,7 x 23,1 cm. Die Gebäude in großer Detailgenauigkeit wiedergegeben. Der Marktplatz mit Buden. Im Vordergrund eine Vielzahl von Personen, die das Markttreiben um 1850 zeigen: Ein Bänkelsänger mit Zeigestab vor seiner Tafel; ein Harfenmädchen, ihr Instrument tragend; Leipziger Bürger im Gespräch; ein Handpuppenspieler, der sich seine kastenartige Kleinbühne übergestülpt hat und dem Kinder hinterherlaufen; ein vierspännig gezogener, hoch beladener Wagen; ein Verkäufer mit Bauchladen und viele andere Einzelheiten. |
