| Description |
English: 17 August 2013. I wrote to Nick Walkley, Haringey Chief Executive, asking him whether or not there is any truth in a rumour that Haringey Council is in negotiations with an academy chain and/or the Department for Education (DFE) for the Technopark to be either a "Free School" or a new "Academy" (privatised) school.
Rumours have been circulating for several weeks. If they are false I've asked Mr Walkley to arrange for Haringey "Communications" team to issue a Press Release stating this fact. If partly or wholly accurate, I've requested a briefing for all councillors and a public statement on the present position The Technopark building is owned by Haringey Council on an unfavourable "leaseback" arrangement. It's managed by Haringey Property Services Team. The building is across the road from Down Lane Park. (See photo below) ___________________ § Declaration of Interest. I and my partner Zena are members of the "Friends of the Down Lane Park" - a local voluntary group. We live a short walking distance from Ashley Road. § Aerial view of where I took these photos. |
