English: A classic cartridge (30-35 grams of lead) contains 200-300 of toxic lead balls. It is generally estimated that for every bird killed, several cartridge were fired (3-6 cartridges according to the sources, for waterfowl). If each of the 1.7 million French hunters (late 1990s) had fired a single cartridge of 32 g per year... This would already be 54.5 t of lead dispersed in nature (545 tons in 10 years). It was estimated in the late twentieth shekel in France 8000 to 9000 TS of lead/year was dispersed in nature through about 250 million cartons a year from all firing together, three quarters for hunting, more than 6,000 t / year of lead (~ 6500t/an) 1/4 for skeet shooting, more than 2,000 t / year. There is an annual decline, but an increasing accumulation in the soil. In France, since 2005, the lead cartridges are no longer allowed for shooting at a wetland.
