Description
English: The dream of Lord Macartney, Governor of the Isle of Grenada attacked by troops of the King of France commanded by Count d'Estaing July 6, 1779. Print French propaganda during the War of Independence. "In a dream, Lord Macartney imagine being imprisoned in the Tower of London and perceive the bust of the Comte d'Estaing, surrounded by trophies. The English flags were overturned and chained over a bas-relief depicting the defeat of the Grenada and the fleet of Admiral Byron. The Lord exclaims : Fate does everything and his sentence was cruel: I am beaten, am I a criminal? "
