Late Medieval/Early post medieval heart-shaped handle
Description
English: Late Medieval/Early post medieval copper alloy furniture fitting, handle from cupboard, or from chafing dish engaged with attachment stud. Cf. Norwich Households nos.489-91, heart-shaped, i.e. with re-entrant base, so most similar to no.491. See also Platt and Coleman-Smith 1975 Southampton fig.245 no.1864. 46mm high, 57mm wide, 3.5mm thick. All surfaces covered with file marks. Stud 22mm x 13mm x 6mm. 15th – 16th century.
