Lanmaoa pseudosensibilis (A.H. Sm. & Thiers) G. Wu, Halling & Zhu L. Yang Image location: West St. Louis Co., Missouri, USA This was the largest fruiting of any species I have seen. It literally covered the entire front lawn of a suburban residence under two mature oaks. Representative (about average) cap size: 9 cm., dry, glabrous, smooth like fine kid leather. Stipe: 8.5 cm. X 2.3 cm. at base and 1.8 cm. at apex, yellow with tinges of red toward base. Tubes: 4 mm. deep. Flesh at center of cap: 2 cm. 2 pores/mm. Pores bruise blue then turn brown. Flesh and tubes bruise blue instantly on exposure. KOH yellow-orange on cap. Obtained olive-brown spore print. Recognized by sight
