| Description |
English: Landscaping below Wrysgan Quarry This area has been carefully shaped and planted, but there is no indication as to who carried out the landscaping, or when and why. It's difficult to tell what are 'original' quarry artefacts and what has been created more recently, but the building on the left houses the remains of an engine house which must be original. The rail track is probably not. The area is now sadly deteriorating.
NOTE: Aug 2008 David Howarth has suggested that this area was created by the last owner/operators of Cwmorthin quarry and has pointed me to Blaenau Tourist Centre for more information, which I will follow up. |
