Das ovale Brustbild zeigt die Landgräfin Louise Elisabeth von Hessen-Homburg (1646-1690) im Dreiviertelprofil vor einem dunklem Hintergrund. Sie trägt hochtupiertes Haar, das seitlich in Locken über ihre Schultern fällt. An ihrem linken Ohr ist ein Perlenohrring zu sehen. Sie trägt ein graublaues Kleid mit tiefem Dekolleté und Musselinbesatz. Unterhalb des Ausschnitts trägt sie einen Brosche mit dunklen Edelsteinen, an dem auch der Hermelinmantel befestigt ist, der über beide Schultern liegt. Louise Elisabeth war die zweite Gemahlin von Friedrich II. von Hessen-Homburg. 1670 vermählte sich das Paar in Kölln bei Berlin. Friedrich nannte Sie in zärtlich-neckender Weise „meine Engelsdicke“. Die reformierte Louise Elisabeth spielte eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Ansiedlung vertriebener Hugenotten und Waldenser in Friedrichsdorf und Dornholzhausen sowie bei der Formung der reformierten Gemeinden in Weferlingen und Homburg. Nach ihr ist die Louisenstraße in Bad Homburg v.d. Höhe benannt." [1] |
