English: A man making Lamu hat embroideries at Mkunguni old town, Lamu hat is known as kofia ya zito by the Lamu people. The embroidery of the Kofia is one of the economic activity of Lamu and the coast in general, the designs can be made by both male and female of any age mostly done by adults and few youth. The hat is known as Kofia ya zito because its made of small embroideries flowers.
Kofia ya Zito (Swahili Hat (Q118539065)) is also a cultural activity among the Lamu people. Description by Khadija Issa TwahirKiswahili: Kofia ya zito ni kofia inayopatikana pwani sana sana Lamu. Kofia ya zito sana sana hushonywa na wanawake na wanaume waliokomaa. ni kofia ambayo ina maua wingi madogo madogo. Maua ya kofia ya zito hutiwa na uzi mwimbamba wa kila rangi kulingana na mapendeleo ya wavaaji kofia.
