Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: The radio mast of an AM radio station atop Lake Mountain, Utah. It is distinctive for the round metal screen mounted at the top. This is called a "top hat" and serves as a capacitor to ground to increase the RF current in the top of the antenna. It serves to electrically lengthen the antenna to make it act as if it were taller, increasing the radiated power. A number of smaller television translators serving the Provo/Orem/Utah Valley area are also mounted on this tower. |
