English: Laganside sculpture 'Porthole 2000'. A sculpture by the River Lagan in Belfast, one of many on the Laganside Art Trail. The artist of the piece was Jo-Anne Hatty who worked with the Bridge Community Youth Group who are based on the nearby Ravenhill Road. Titled 'Porthole 2000' the piece "comprises two large curved blue steel elements with portholes, referring to Belfast shipbuilding." There is also a bronze disc set at the centre of the piece which was designed in conjunction with the aforementioned youth group 1337421.
The sculpture was completed to mark the launch of the National Cycle Network Millennium Routes. |
