Description
English: Lady Mary Ross's Chair, nr. Ingleby Greenhow This feature a local landmark is associated with Ingleby Manor. The inscription reads "Lady Mary Ross 1867". Lady Mary Ross was the mother of Lady Mary Foulis, the last Foulis heiress to the Ingleby Estate and it is said that her ghost haunts the Manor. It is situated just off forestry track from Bank Foot and about 200m past the point where the old tramway crosses the track. Local lore has it that this is where she sat to observe the activity in her estate below.
