Description
Français : Corderie royale, Rochefort (17).

Achevé vers 1670, ce bâtiment tout en longueur (375 m !) pour raisons techniques, situé au coeur de l'arsenal maritime, a fourni durant 2 siècles les cordages de la marine de guerre française.

L'ensemble des opérations de transformation étaient réalisées sur place, du stockage de la matière première, le chanvre, à son goudronnage final après torsadage, par l'intermédiaire de plusieurs pavillons annexes.
