Description

Lüneburg, Kirche St. Johannis, Turmhalle:
Epitaph Glöde (1,72 m x 2,56 m hoch), farbig bemalt. In der Mitte erscheint eine große männliche Figur, die zwei Wappen, Glöde und Schomaker, hält, unter der Figur Schrifttafel mit lateinischem Gedicht. Das Ganze wird umrahmt von einer Umschrift in römischen Majuskeln, die in den Ecken von vier Kreisen mit Wappenschildern unterbrochen werden. Die Umschrift lautet: MARTINVS . GLOEDE • J : V. DOCTOR. AC • INCLUTI • SENATVS • SYNDICUS • OBIIT . ANNO • MDXXffll • ALTERA • MAURITII • ELISABET • ÜXOR • OBIIT •

ANNO . MDXXXVI • IN • PROFESTO • VALENTINI • oben rechts Wappen mit Adlerfuß und Umschrift: .ESTE . GLADOW • oben links das Glödesche Wappen mit der Umschrift: WICHMANN • GLOD • unten links Wappen der Glöde mit Umschrift: GORGES . GLODE • unten rechts Wappen mit Weinranken und Umschrift: BARBARA • LANGENS • Das Renaissancelaubwerk der heraldischen Darstellungen ist gut gearbeitet. Auch diese Arbeit hängt ihrem Ursprünge nach wohl mit dem Dasselschen Epitaph in der nordwestlichen Vorhalle und den dort genannten Arbeiten zusammen.
