English: Lögber, the speaking platform and location of the political assembly of the Alþingi, Iceland's legislative and judicial authority until 1271. The exact location of the Lögber is unknown today, but it is roughly at the site of this photograph, in Þingvellir, or "Thing Fields," in Bláskógabyggð in southwestern Iceland, near the peninsula of Reykjanes and the Hengill volcanic area. |
