Description

Le fort de l'Ecluse.

Le fort comprend deux parties, le fort supérieur (ici) et le fort inférieur.

Cet ouvrage militaire, qui domine le Rhône, a été le dernier bastion de la campagne de 1940. Cité au tableau d'honneur à la BBC sur radio Londres dans l'émission "les Français parlent aux Français" pour sa résistance. L'acharnement de son équipage face aux Allemands contribua à ce que la haute Savoie reste libre jusqu'en 1942.

Une "via ferrata" assez difficile relie les deux forts.


The military fort consists of two parts, the upper fort (here) and the lower fort.

This military structure, which dominates the Rhone, was the last bastion of the 1940 campaign. Quoted on the honor roll at the BBC Radio London in the show "the French speak French for" to resistance. The determination of the crew contributed to the Germans that the Haute Savoie is free until 1942.

A "via ferrata" difficult connects two forts.
