Montpeller (en occità Montpelhièr; en francès Montpellier, nom oficial) és una ciutat del sud de l'estat francès, capital del departament de l'Erau (Hérault en francès) i de la regió de Llenguadoc-Rosselló. Va ser la capital de la Senyoria de Montpeller que formà part de la Corona d'Aragó. Segons el cens de 1999 tenia una població de 225.392 habitants (anomenats montpellerins), que a l'aglomeració urbana era de 459.916; segons l'estimació del 2005 la població és de 244.500 al municipi i 509.077 a l'aglomeració. La ciutat té un altre nom popular: lo Clapàs.
