Description
Español: El experimento de Kündig (1963). Se montó un absorbente de Fe57 a 9,3 cm del eje de un rotor de una ultracentrifugadora de Mössbauer. Se montó una fuente de Co57 en un transductor piezoeléctrico (PZT) en el centro del rotor. Al girar el rotor, la fuente y el absorbente perdieron la resonancia. Un voltaje modulado aplicado al PZT puso la fuente en movimiento radial con respecto al absorbente, de modo que se pudo medir la cantidad de desplazamiento Doppler convencional que restauraría la resonancia. Por ejemplo, retirar la fuente a 195 micrones por segundo produjo un corrimiento al rojo Doppler convencional equivalente a hacer girar el absorbente a 35.000 rpm.
