Image title | Die kleinformatige Radierung wurde im Januar 1932 aus dem Berliner Antiquariat Altmann für das Städtische Museum Potsdam erworben. Sie ist eine der wenigen erhaltenen historischen Ansichten der zwischen 1753 und 1755 nach Plänen von Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff (1699–1753) durch Jan Boumann d. Ä. (1706–1767) errichteten Kirche, die Friedrich II. der Französisch-Reformierten Gemeinde in Potsdam zur Verfügung stellte. Vorbild des ovalen Zentralbaus mit flacher Kuppel ist das Pantheon in Rom. Die beiden allegorischen Figuren links und rechts des Eingangs symbolisieren „Spes“ (Glaube) und „Caritas“ (wohltätige Liebe). Bereits im ausgehenden 18. Jahrhundert wurden sie nicht nur in der Druckgrafik rezipiert. Beide von Friedrich Christian Glume d. J. (1714–1752) geschaffenen Skulpturen dienten als Vorlagen von Zeichnungen eines in der Ständigen Ausstellung des Potsdam Museums präsentiertes Poesiealbums.
