Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Medieval runic inscription in Kinneved church in Frökind hundred, Falköping municipality, former Skaraborg county, the Diocese of Skara, Västergötland, Sweden. The runic inscription is found in a niche in the sanctuary (a former sanctuary portal). Transliterated the inscription seems to read: "kuþokurer" or "kuþokuare?þ". Malkolmsson read it as "guðokurer" and speculates that it means something like "God cures". In the lower half of the picture the runes are painted digitally. Literature: Dan Malkolmsson, "Om kyrkan i Kinneved och dess dolda tecken", Falbygden No 60 (2006) pages 79-87; "Korta meddelanden: Runor och andra putsristningar i Kinneveds kyrka i Västergötland", Fornvännen No. 102 (2007) pp. 37-40. Listed in Rundata as Vg Fv2007;37.
Svenska: Medeltida runinskrift i Kinneveds kyrka i Frökinds härad i Falköpings kommun i f.d. Skaraborgs län i Skara stift i Västergötland i Sverige.
